Why RaiderComm?

When reviewing what classes I wanted to take for my last year at Texas Tech I knew I wanted to select ones that would help me gain more knowledge and experience in my future career path, public relations. With that said,RaiderComm stood out to me based on a variety of reasons. Being student-run appealed to me the most because by working with people I can gain knowledge in areas I may not be as strong in. RaiderCommis not just PR oriented because more goes into PR than meets the eye. Extended experience in advertising, video production, social media, interactive media, event planning, leadership skills and more is what I am looking forward to! Through all the previous classes I have taken in college, I have learned a multitude of information that I will carry with me forever, but there is always room to grow. I want to feel confident in the many areas PR has to offer while obtaining the best understanding I can of each one. The RaiderComm environment mirrors the responsibilities of professionals that will allow me to fully experience how life after college can be. I have always looked at the transition between college and professional life as a hard one; I hope that this class will allow for that process to come about naturally. Finally, working with real agencies is the key factor that truly drew me to be a part of this organization. The work for the agencies will help my class members and I bond by creating work together and finalizing pieces of work to send out. Overall, I am very overjoyed to be involved in such a unique course that will highlight the best qualities I possess as well as provide notable examples of work ethic.
