Why I Chose RaiderComm

By: Isabella Monroe Embarking upon my junior year at Texas Tech has been nothing short of daunting. As I contemplate this year and my future post-graduation, I’m aware that it’s imperative to act in furthering my academic and professional career. Fortunately, after speaking with a few peers and advisers about my next steps, all signs pointed to RaiderComm. Upon learning about the course and seeing the dedicated work that students have done in the past semesters, I knew that I had to apply and give it a chance.

What most intrigued me about RaiderComm was the opportunity to do real work for actual clients in Lubbock. I witnessed the collaborative team efforts and heard testimonies from students about the skills they gained through their experience with the RaiderComm Agency that only solidified my determination to gain admission into this program.

Now, understanding what RaiderComm is all about, I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to build client relationships and explore new ways to express my creative and professional ideas. I believe that joining RaiderComm will build upon my sense of identity as a student and also as a professional by allowing me to apply what I’ve learned to real-life settings. It’s not an exaggeration to say that RaiderComm is the class I’m most looking forward to in my academic career.

This semester, I am ready to take on the challenges that this course will bring. The experience gained from a fully functional student-run agency alone is enough to have me genuinely excited for this journey. I hope to grow not only professionally in my work and skills but as a person and a teammate to those around me. I am committed to making the most of this transformative opportunity.
