My RaiderComm Journey

By: Travis Furlow

During the registration period for Fall 2023, I had been going back and forth with my advisor on trying to find a class to further my professional development and academia. I remembered that that in the past, I had tried to join RaiderComm but the timing was not quite right. Dr. Davis reached out to me and asked if I wanted to join and I automatically said yes. With a snap of a finger, I was enrolled. I was so excited for the opportunity.

Now that I have joined RaiderComm, I am asked why I did it. I always wanted to join the agency not only because of its real-world experience and recognition throughout the college, but because of how much fun previous students were having. I always saw students enthusiastic and passionate about RaiderComm. They were dedicated to sharing the client’s vision, values, and mission. I noticed students developing into young, aspiring professionals through this wonderful opportunity, and seeing students thrive in RaiderComm was a vital part of my decision to join.

I hope to gain and learn new skills that will equip me for the future. I am looking forward to developing long-lasting relationships with my peers and new co-workers, as well as nurturing a relationship with clients. I believe this opportunity is the turning point needed to spur me along my journey toward success and honor. I know this experience will be far greater than what I have done in the past. Cheers to a spectacular semester being in RaiderComm! Wreck ‘Em!
