Find Out Why Students Chose RaiderComm

Needing to find a course that will give you experience and materials for your portfolio? RaiderComm has endless opportunities to explore communications fields and create content for real-world clients you can take pride in. Read below to hear from former and present students that have been a big part of the student-run agency!

Randilyn Sanchez:

RaiderComm is important in a lot of different ways. The biggest way is the professional skills it is going to teach you no matter what account team you’re on because it’s actual PR work that you’re doing. On top of that, you’re benefitting some type of organization or facility on campus. It’s more than just being on an account team and being part of RaiderComm, you’re contributing to businesses and clients.”

Josh Barranza:

“I joined RaiderComm and didn’t know what to expect. I faked it until I made it. Dr. Davis was a really good mentor. She always made sure I understood everything. I learned a lot about communicating professionally with real-world clients. You get experience meeting with clients with different styles of work. I got to go to the PRSSA national conference in San Diego and represent RaiderComm. I learned so much about diversity and the business side of PR which is the reason why I switched my major to marketing and now have a minor in PR. It’s really important that your workplace is diverse because you all have different backgrounds and you all bring in new ideas. Working in teams in RaiderComm helped me prepare for working in groups in my future career. I learned how to work with different personalities and make the workplace a better place. RaiderComm shows you how to hold your team accountable and hold yourself accountable when working in teams throughout the semester.”

Michelle Morris:

RaiderComm has given me opportunities to develop as a leader on campus and sharpen the skills I’ve learned as a student. I served as the RaiderComm Account Manager in the Spring of 2020 and now lead as the agency’s Director for the 2020-2021 academic year. Serving as a leader within the agency has allowed me to expand my relationships with team members, practice communicating with professional clients, and has challenged me to cultivate a culture of unity within the account teams. RaiderComm is a class every CoMC student should take for the work experience you earn in a classroom setting.”

To find out how you can add this class to your schedule, talk to your advisor about RaiderComm and email Dr. Davis at Debbie.Davis@ttu.edu to gain course approval.
