Client Vision

By Kailee Walters

My ultimate goal is to bring a client’s vision to life. It's especially important because of creating and maintaining a trustworthy relationship between your internal team and client. Sometimes bringing a client’s vision to life could be a strategy implemented through the internal team.

Being able to bring a vision to life for a client is important when working with a team, as you must know how to find and navigate through exactly what a client wants. The best part is watching the vision become successful and leaving an impact on their target audience. In order to master that vision, you have to know what type of client you are working with. There are many different client types, and what they expect from the internal team may each be different.

To help make the vision as clear as it can be, the client must have trust in the agency and their ability to exceed expectations. I remember this one time when I managed a social media account for athletic wear. I had lots of creative direction in making content stand out! I was able to get some models together to shoot the wear, pick a location, and make it happen. The client ended up loving the different shots and locations. It’s important to always listen to what your client wants from you.

An opposite approach from that client type I had was someone called a “by the numbers," which is someone who has a rule system that's not too spontaneous and typically dictated by a plan. One reason someone could be a “by the numbers” person is that they want to see how a strict plan plays out before something more spontaneous takes place. This is how you will create a successful vision for your client; by knowing who you work for.

What is more rewarding is knowing you were able to create their specific vision. I have had many different client types and enjoyed getting to personally know each of them. If you want to succeed by completing your client’s vision, you want to make sure you know the client well. If you don’t know the client type, it will be hard to know what they are asking for. When you do bring a client’s vision to life, you will feel so relieved to know you did it! So, what are you waiting for? Time to chase after the vision your client has!
