Welcome to my final blog post! As a senior, RaiderComm has been a blessing in disguise. It has boosted my work ethic, organization, time management and inspiration in my aspiring profession. I have also made long-lasting connections and friends in this wonderful agency. Below, you will find my top pieces of advice for succeeding in this agency:
1. Manage your time.
My colleagues will agree that managing your time is essential to maintaining your sanity. To succeed in anything, you must utilize your time. In RaiderComm, there is no time for procrastination. If you do, you are hurting the progress of your account team and relationship with the client. I highly suggest becoming a master of your time rather than a slave. Especially in RaiderComm, urgent tasks will be the priority on your to-do list, so it is essential to manage your time. There are many ways to manage your time effectively. I use Microsoft To-Do and keep a daily planner. It is easy to forget something, but not if you write it down immediately. Using little tools to organize my schedule has been a saving grace not only in RaiderComm but also in my day-to-day activities. I suggest you find the best schedule for your workflow and stick to it. Make it your routine, and you will find maximum productivity.
2. Be a team player.
Be a team player! That means being flexible, reliable, accountable and respectful. RaiderComm is not a one-person show. It requires teamwork and collaboration to achieve the best possible outcome for the client. I know it is cliché, but teamwork does make the dream work. Teams with a sense of community create the best work environment and deliver the best work. Be the first one to show up and the last one to leave. Be the first one to volunteer for a difficult task or extra work (it goes a long way). Setting the team's needs above your own will require endurance, but ultimately, it will establish success for the team and improve team morale.
3. Take advantage of your resources.
In RaiderComm, you will gain invaluable skills that will set you apart from others. In the agency, many started not knowing agency life. Using the knowledge of returners and the executive team is critical. If your back is against the wall, remember there have been others in your shoes. They might know a thing or two that will help you improve your professionalism. In RaiderComm, help is always given to those who ask for it!
4. Have fun and learn.
My last piece of advice is the most important. RaiderComm is a fun, interactive learning experience. Looking back on my first semester, I have gained more confidence in my abilities. The opportunity for growth in RaiderComm is limitless. I have grown my network, time management proficiency, professional skills, teamwork and leadership skills. Tasks might feel stressful, but remember to have fun and enjoy your work. Take every learning opportunity with a grain of salt and understand there is much more than meets the eye. At RaiderComm, there is always room for fun and laughter. You will find that it will be the best experience you didn’t know you needed.
