Motivation and Productivity

You've (hopefully) survived the first round of tests, and now here come midterms! It's important to remember that even though it's close Spring Break, these tests affect your grade just as much as all the others. If you're one of those students who have multiple tests, don't let this one slide because in the end it all adds up. It's easy to be swept away with prepping for Spring Break festivities which causes your motivation level to plummet, but I've prepared some tips to help you finish strong before Spring Break.

Keeping up your motivation and productivity will feel extremely more rewarding than finishing a series on Netflix.

1. One tip that helps me a lot when I'm feeling lazy is keeping a goal in mind. Pick a goal that will be reasonably achievable for you. Don't push for a 4.0 GPA if the highest you've ever made is a 3.2 GPA. If you don't make an exact 4.0 you will feel unsuccessful even if you did make a 3.8, which is pretty great as well.

2. Find someone who can keep you accountable. If you feel yourself wanting to slack off, have a friend that will help you get out of bed and to the library. Return the favor by making sure your study buddy stays motivated, too!

3. Lastly, if you feel that you are stuck in a rut, look up some motivational videos, or research someone successful that you are inspired by. This may seem corny, but when you see a TEDx talk or read a biography about someone it incredible, it just makes you think about what all you're capable of.

Don't let Spring Break keep you from reaching your goals. With a long to-do list it may seem easy to just shut down and watch Netflix, but in the end your parents, GPA and future will thank you.

Hang in there this midterm season!
